PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH – Owens Community College Center for Fine and Performing Arts will welcome the holiday season with an array of traditional and international carols and Mozart’s “Missa Brevis” as the Student Choir presents its annual holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 6.
The holiday concert will begin 2 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre. Owens’ Toledo-area Campus is located on Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township. The performance is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Musical selections presented by the four-part chorus group will include “Balulalow”, “Inno per Natale”, “A La Nanita Nana”, “Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow”, “Silent Night”, “Winter Wonderland” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, among others. Additionally, “Missa Brevis” No. 9 in B flat major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be featured as part of the performance. Owens’ chorus will present five of the six movements to the selection, which is a musical setting to the traditional Catholic mass.
Owens Adjunct Faculty members in Fine and Performing Arts Eric Graber and Heidi Clausius will serve as the choir concert’s director and accompanist, respectively.
