WARNING! Phishing attempt!

31 Mar, 2014
Owens Faculty/Staff members,
An email was sent this weekend to a large number of Owens employees.  This was a "phishing" email attempt that's made to appear to come from Owens ITS.  Please contact the ITS Helpdesk at x7120 if your replied to this email to have your password reset.  A few employees have already replied to this messages with their credentials.  The result of this was tens of thousands of SPAM email messages sent from these few Owens accounts to other individuals.  In the future, please examine the senders email address more closely.  This message was not sent from an "owens.edu" address, it was sent from one of few reported external email addresses.  Again, if you have any questions about a messages like this, please contact the IT Help Desk at x7120.
