When Instructors look at the Needs Grading section of the Grade Center, sometimes there are multiple attempts of the same assignment by the same student.  When this happens, it might be helpful to clear out the attempts that the instructor is not going to grade.

1.  From the Needs Grading section of the Grade Center, click on the down arrow next to the Item Name (ex. Test).

Note:  The down arrow won't appear until you move your mouse pointer to the right of the item name.

2.  Click on View Attempts.

3.  This will show you a list of the attempts the student has submitted for this assignment.

4.  Click on the down arrow next to the Grade of the attempt you would like to delete.

Note:  The down arrow won't appear until you move your mouse pointer to the right of the item name.

5.  Select Clear Attempt from the menu.

6.  A box will appear asking if you want to delete this attempt.  Verify that this is the attempt that you wanted to delete and then click OK.

7.  The attempt no longer appears in the list of student attempts for that assignment.

8.  The attempt no longer appears in the list of assignments that need to be graded.
