Problems with Blackboard Pasting in the Updated Blackboard Content Editor

The updated version of Blackboard has caused changes in the security settings which affect the way content is pasted into the Content editor. For computers where the security settings cannot be changed, the HTML button found in the Content Editor can be used for pasting into Blackboard.

To do this:

  1. Go to the HTML link in the Content editor:
  2. A pop-up window will open. Paste your text into the pop up window by Ctrl-V, then click Update.
  3. The text is now displayed in your submission post.

Please Note: Some text formatting may not show. This can be fixed by accessing other word processing tools located in the Content editor.

Update: The latest version of Mozilla Firefox (version 36 as of March 2015) prohibits copying and pasting by all means.  This Firefox addon restores clipboard copy and paste functions for version 36 of Firefox and beyond.  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nocopypaste/
