At times, employees need to search for old messages.  Owens also needs to keep email records for legal purposes, if requested.  This also satisfies requirements by HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley as they pertain to records retention.

document Why are we eliminating all “live” GroupWise email older than 2 years?
There a few reasons for this change.  One is the sheer amount of data and its continual growth.  Storage is very expensive and the “live” email system holds multiple Terabytes of data.  Large email database files also are difficult to manage and can be problematic in GroupWise.

NetMail Archive can be accessed by logging into Ozone and then GroupWise Email.Once in Groupwise WebAccess, click on the word “Archive” in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Firefox and Chrome browsers work best.  Internet Explorer can be problematic. (Mozilla Firefox can be downloaded and installed from www.mozilla.org and Google Chrome can be downloaded and installed from www.google.com)

document How do I get back to my “live” GW Webmail from the archives?
Clicking on “Mail” in the upper-right corner of the screen of the NetMail Archive Viewer screen will take you back to your “live” GW Webmail.  You may need to close the screen for NetMail Search if you’re using that app first.
