Suicide Prevention and Awareness @ Veterans Hall 102

The Office of Counseling Services has scheduled a Suicide Prevention and Awareness event entitled “Question, Persuade and Refer”. All are welcome.

The program teaches community members how to question someone about suicide, persuade them to get help and refer them for the right kind of help that they need. The program includes practical tips and debunks some of the myths surrounding the epidemic of suicide.

Scott Hocking | Shipwrecks @ Walter E. Terhune Gallery

SHIPWRECKS is an ongoing photo series documenting the preponderance of abandoned boats, forlorn vessels, orphaned vehicles and stranded objects found – and often illegally dumped – throughout Detroit.

SCOTT HOCKING is an installation artist, sculptor and photographer based in Detroit. He creates site-specific sculptural and photographic installation projects, often using found materials. A 2018 Kresge Fellow, Hocking has exhibited extensively in the U.S. and Europe.

Arts Performance Series Welcomes ‘GRUBS’ @ Center for Fine and Performing Arts Theatre

The Music Business Technology Portfolio I class presents the Grande Royale Ükulelists of the Black Swamp – “GRUBS” – at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 28 as the opening act in the Accent on the Arts 2019-20 concert series.

The Grande Royale Ükulelists of the Black Swamp are a quartet who sing and play all kinds of music on all kinds of ukuleles. Admission is free for the performance in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Theatre.

Music Business Technology students design, book, promote and present the Accent on the Arts concert series each academic year.
