The Walter E. Terhune Gallery is excited to partner with the Sofia Quintero Art & Culture Center to host ¡CREATIVO!, a Latino Art Show celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. This exhibit showcases local Latino art students and community members.

The exhibit will be located in the Heritage Hall student area outside room 123.

SHIPWRECKS is an ongoing photo series documenting the preponderance of abandoned boats, forlorn vessels, orphaned vehicles and stranded objects found – and often illegally dumped – throughout Detroit.

SCOTT HOCKING is an installation artist, sculptor and photographer based in Detroit. He creates site-specific sculptural and photographic installation projects, often using found materials. A 2018 Kresge Fellow, Hocking has exhibited extensively in the U.S. and Europe.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness @ Heritage Hall 158

The Office of Counseling Services has scheduled a series of Suicide Prevention and Awareness events entitled “Question, Persuade and Refer” at various locations on the Toledo-area Campus in September. All are welcome.

The program teaches community members how to question someone about suicide, persuade them to get help and refer them for the right kind of help that they need. The program includes practical tips and debunks some of the myths surrounding the epidemic of suicide.

  • Monday, September 16 – 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Heritage Hall 158
  • Thursday, September 19 – 3-4 p.m., College Hall 165
  • Friday, September 27 – 8:30-9:30 a.m., Veterans Hall 102

The Constitution Convention of 1787 brought forth a vigorous debate, leading to many questions: Should the Constitution be written at all? What form should it take? Should it be ratified by the States? The thoughts of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Abigail Adams, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson and others will be voiced by the faculty from the School of Liberal Arts.
