College and Career Preview Night provides an opportunity for high school students and their parents to meet with representatives from over 100 colleges, universities, industries, and the military to explore options after high school. Presentations on Financial Aid and Careers in Manufacturing and Skilled Trades will be available, along with a number of special resources for athletics, scholarships, accommodations, and more. Talk with faculty and staff from various Owens programs, including selective health majors.

Reverend Sharon Washington Risher was catapulted into the limelight after the Charleston, South Carolina shooting at the Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, 2015. Her beloved mother — the church’s sexton — Ethel Lee Lance, was killed along with eight others, including two cousins and a childhood friend. Come hear Reverend Risher share her personal experience losing loved ones while discussing race, racism, hate in America, and finding a path to forgiveness and hope for the future.
